H2 Insurance Solutions was founded in 2007 by Jason Holmes with the key goal of specialising in the entertainment and film industry. Trading as an Authorised Representative through Insurance Advisernet, one of Australasia's largest General Insurance Brokers, the business has continued to grow and develop into Australia’s leading entertainment insurance broker.

In 2019, H2 Insurance Solutions was acquired by Tysers Insurance Brokers, a London based brokerage firm with offices all over the world servicing clients in over 100 countries across the globe. Tysers has a rich history being founded in 1820 and bring excellence to the insurance industry for over 200-years. As the 6th largest broker placing business into Lloyd’s of London, Tysers place over USD 3bn of premium into the market.

In 2019, H2 Insurance Solutions acquired a well-established entertainment brokerage book of business, led by Peter Bloomfield in Melbourne.

In 2020, H2 Insurance Solutions expanded again, opening a New Zealand office in July led by Lisa Ciniglio, an experienced film and entertainment insurance broker.

In 2022, Tysers Insurance Brokers including H2 Insurance Solutions was purchased by AUB Group. AUB Group limited is an ASX200 listed group comprising insurance brokers and underwriting agencies operating in 520 locations across Australia and New Zealand to place $4.4bn+ GWP in insurance premiums with local and foreign insurers.

Jason Holmes / Head of Region – Asia Pacific

Jason Holmes began his insurance career with an international broker back in 1995, and over the last 27 years he has looked after insurance for all facets of the entertainment industry. Since founding H2 Insurance Solutions in 2007, it has always been Jason’s mission to give his clients a professional yet personal brokerage experience.

Jason is a specialist in insurance for the entertainment & events, film, conference & exhibition industries, with a particular focus on event cancellation & non-appearance insurance. Jason is always looking for areas of improvement and prides himself on understanding the unique needs of his clients ensuring their specifications are met and expectations are exceeded. With a portfolio of national and international clients, including: Nitro Circus, TEG Dainty, Chugg Entertainment, Bluesfest and Live Nation, Jason has all the tools and experience to best represent his clients to insurers.

Whether he is spending time with his family or catching the next wave, Jason works hard, plays hard, and is always ready to rock.

Chris Arif-Ball / Senior Account Manager

Chris began his insurance career in 2007 with a Lloyd’s registered global music and entertainment insurance broker in London. During his time as a broker, he has provided insurance and risk management advice to all participants in the event industry including artists/bands, festivals, promoters, event organisers/managers/producers, agents, record companies, recording studios and production/tech companies.

At H2 Insurance Solutions, Chris is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and tailoring comprehensive cover to provide clients with protection and peace of mind for the unexpected.

When he is not working, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and various sports including football, golf, and mountain-biking.

Steve Wells / Senior Account

Steve began his insurance career in 2006 as an Underwriter for a leading underwriting agency in the sports insurance industry.   During that time, he has gained an extensive knowledge of all types of sports and their unique insurance requirements.  In his time as a Broker, Steve has provided insurance assistance and risk management guidance to many sporting organisations.  

Whether it be the local footy club or National Association, Steve has the knowledge and experience to provide tailored advice and negotiate favourable results for clients.

In 2022, Steve joined the H2 Insurance Solutions team where he has brought his extensive knowledge of sporting and recreation insurance needs to complement the challenges involved in insurance for the events, music and entertainment industry.  

When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing on the golf course and watching one of his many sporting teams.

Fiona Balaam / Account Manager

Fiona has experienced a rewarding and successful career covering all facets of the insurance industry. With 14 years experience as the in-house underwriter for an international insurer and another 4 years working with claims, Fiona has gained a wealth of knowledge in all things insurance.

As an Account Manager at H2 Insurance Solutions, Fiona uses her vast knowledge and experience to best tailor cover to her clients and accommodate their needs.

When she is not being an insurance guru, Fiona enjoys travelling, seeing live music, and volunteering.

Tracy Powell / Account Broker

Tracy is a hard-working individual who strives for excellence in her work. She started her insurance career in 1998 at an insurance company based in New Zealand. In 2003, Tracy moved to London and continued expanding her experience in the insurance industry. By 2006, Tracy made the transition to insurance brokerage when she moved to Australia.

Tracy has unique experience having worked as part of an insurer and also as an insurance broker. This gives her a broad knowledge of the industry, which complements her keen eye for detail.

Tracy began her journey at H2 Insurance Solutions in March 2020 and has been a great addition to the team ever since. She works tirelessly to help both clients and our staff team.

Outside of the office, Tracy enjoys going to the gym, socialising with friends and spending time with her family.

Jean Van Vegchel / Account Broker

Jean has been in the insurance industry for over 10 years working as a general broker for domestic, commercial and rural clients. In 2019, Jean made the shift to focus on the needs of corporate and strata clients.

In 2021, Jean joined the team at H2 Insurance Solutions as an account broker. She assists clients and our other brokers and has become an integral and core member of the team. We affectionately recognise that Jean is the no-nosense team member who makes things happen.

In her time away from the office, Jean is an avid sports and nature photographer as well as a lover of football, both as a player and a coach.

Breanna Bevan / Administrative Assistant 

Breanna joined H2 Insurance Solutions in 2022 and we love having her on the team. She is a driven individual with an unmatched attention to detail and ambition for business.

Breanna is currently completing a BA in International Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast. With a passion to undertake new challenges, an interest in the insurance industry and a desire to excel in business, Breanna has quickly become a valued team member.

Breeanna’s role involves assisting the team of insurance brokers to offer day to day support.

Outside of work, Breanna enjoys travelling, watching movies, socialising with friends, and going to the beach.
